Bomb threat sent to directors of 4 airports in Karnataka including Mangaluru

Mangaluru, June 30: Directors of four airports in Karnataka, including the Mangaluru International Airport, received bomb threat emails on Sunday morning warning of possible blasts at the respective airports, reports said.

The airports in Mangaluru, Hubballi, Belagavi, and Bengaluru were the targets of the threats sent via email. As a precautionary measure, security has been tightened at all four locations.

Officials at the Mangaluru International Airport in Bajpe confirmed that a threat was received via email and said that the police are closely monitoring the security situation.

All passengers and members of the public entering the airport premises are being subjected to rigorous checks.

According to official sources, the bomb disposal squad, canine unit, local police, internal security personnel, and intelligence agencies are actively involved in the operation.
