Mangaluru, Jun 29: In a shocking development, a college student from Puttur who was allegedly sexually assaulted by her classmate, the son of a BJP leader, has now given birth to a baby boy. The accused, identified as Krishna Rao, is currently absconding after a complaint was filed against him.

According to sources, Krishna Rao and the victim were in a relationship since their high school days in Puttur and later pursued higher studies at a private college in Mangaluru. The complaint reveals that Krishna allegedly took advantage of the relationship and developed physical intimacy with the girl under the guise of love.

The first incident reportedly took place on October 11, 2024, when Krishna invited the victim to his residence under the pretext of no one being home and allegedly assaulted her. A second incident of sexual assault was reported in January 2025, when he once again coerced her into a physical relationship.

The situation worsened when the victim informed Krishna about her pregnancy. Instead of offering support or agreeing to take responsibility, Krishna allegedly refused to marry her and began to distance himself. Facing emotional trauma and social pressure, the girl finally approached the Puttur Women’s Police Station on the night of June 24 and registered a formal complaint.

Based on her statement, a case has been filed under Sections 64(1) and 69 of the Indian Penal Code. Following the filing of the complaint, Krishna Rao went into hiding, prompting police to initiate a manhunt to trace his whereabouts. Sources confirm that a special team has been formed, and a trap has been laid to apprehend the absconding accused.

The incident has sparked outrage among locals and activists, who are demanding swift justice for the victim and strict action against the accused, regardless of his political connections. The case once again brings to light the pressing need for better safeguards for women and stronger mechanisms to address such grave violations of trust and dignity.

without sex education, we all have successfully achieved normal way of life and the progress of a family life. Our time no digital gadgets like mobile phone, internet. Not even TV only postal service or use of younger brother as courier and cost of some chocolates bar. Headache was writing and tearing if proper words, phrases would not match. That was fun and curiosity to explore. Happy go lucky memories will never wash away!

Love starts when they were schooling. It's like love was in budding form and it took few years to blossom fully. By that time both had grown to the stage that could understand the situation fully. In spite of that everything went in secret mission. The parents should have approached boy's parents or police to register a case. Still, it is not too late. Trace boy and ensure that he comes to terms and agrees to turn the event into a Wedding knot and let them with child live happily as a family in the future. Mistakes happen but to admit them and sustain life and living is important. That gives peace of mind and everlasting Love! Running to escape from guilt will not solve the problem. After all we are humans and must learn from mistakes.

The boy and girl were in love with each other since school days and both were studying in Mangalore instead of Puttur. After knowing the girl is pregnant the boy should have taken responsibility instead he absconded. Irresponsible college boy.
