Media Release

Mangaluru, Jun 26: The Red Magic unfolded at the Nursery section of Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru on Wednesday, June 25. It was a vibrant and joyful event that offered a meaningful learning experience for the nursery children. The celebration aimed to help the young learners identify and appreciate the primary colour “Red” in a fun and interactive way.

The little ones arrived in adorable red uniform, bringing a splash of colour and cheer to the campus. Their classrooms were beautifully adorned with red-themed items such as apples, tomatoes, strawberries, cars and balls, creating an inviting and festive atmosphere that immediately captured their attention.

The day began with a short prayer and a melodious prayer song, setting a calm and positive tone. The facilitators then introduced the colour “Red” through interactive discussions and visual aids. A surprise box activity added a touch of excitement as children eagerly explored and identified various red objects hidden inside. They also learned a cheerful red colour song that added rhythm and joy to the experience.

Teacher Pramila spoke about the red apple and demonstrated the steps to eat it properly - washing, wiping, peeling, slicing and enjoying it. Teacher Clara captivated the children with a presentation on the red fire engine, explaining its role in emergencies and sparking a sense of wonder and curiosity. Teacher Sonali highlighted the beauty of the red hibiscus and led the children outdoors to observe red elements in nature, reinforcing their understanding through real-world exploration.

To deepen their learning, the children engaged in a variety of hands-on activities, including tearing, crushing and palm printing, all centred around the colour “Red”.

The celebration was a memorable blend of fun and learning, leaving the young Carmelites with bright smiles and a vivid impression of the colour “Red”.
