Abu Dhabi, June 16: India Social Center, Abu Dhabi witnessed a houseful show of “Yena Zalyaar Vosanaa” attended by more than 600 Konkani drama lovers from Abu Dhabi, Musaffah and Dubai.
The audience laughed to their content witnessing the comedy show superbly acted by Sangon Mugadana Kalakar. The drama written, directed and acted by Pradeep Barboza was hosted by Konkani Cultural Organisation (KCO), as part of their Pearl Jubilee celebrations this year.














































Compering the programme, Vivek Serrao, gave an introduction, followed by prayer lead by Fr Darick D Souza OFM Cap. The entire audience stood in moments of silence paying tributes to the victims of Air India AI171 crash at Ahmedabad.
Leo Rodrigues, honorary president of KCO in his welcome address, extended a warm welcome to Fr Darick, main sponsors, platinum sponsors and all the audience and presented the journey of KCO in the past 30 years preserving culture and improving lives. Sponsors were felicitated as a token of gratitude for their support with a flower bouquet by the president.
This was followed by the drama “Yena Zalyaar Vosanaa”, a rib-tickling Konkani comedy show. The audience enjoyed the superb acting and hilarious comedy with a wonderful social message at the end.
KCO felicitated Pradeep Barboza, the writer, director and actor of the drama, with a shawl, flower bouquet and a basket of fruits and all the actors with a rose as an acknowledgment for their wonderful performance.
Sandhya Vas, general secretary of KCO delivered the vote of thanks to all who supported the event. KCO known for its meticulous organising skills managed and delivered yet another successful event to the liking of all who attended the event.
The upcoming events of KCO are: scholarship distribution in August in Mangaluru, throwball tournament in October in Abu Dhabi, Pearl Jubilee celebrations on Saturday, November 8 in Abu Dhabi and on Sunday, December 7 in Mangaluru.
Konkani Cultural Organisation prominently known as KCO is well known in UAE, GCC and in India for its benevolent work in helping the needy and deserving students through scholarships, medical support to several suffering people with critical illnesses. KCO has been recognising and supporting many NGOs, in Karnataka, who are working with the poor, marginalised, distressed and the needy.
