There are many uncovered drains in Udupi. Every effort must be made to cover it. When I was studying in Manipal once I fell into a drain but I survived with minor injuries That trauma is still with me and I was lucky to survive as my friend immediately lifted me from the drain.

Apparently the drain didn't have a cover. The deceased family should sue the city, and get compensated.

Its so tragic and sad.Still sad is when mother is alive and son goes before ,one can imagine what that mother heart feel .The cause because is negligence of local community to close the drain. They cash the taxes and now? Will they bear the cost of his last rites or look after his mother ?May his soul rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathies to his family.
