Mangaluru, Oct 22: Dr Sunil Rao of city origin, who is serving as doctor in Bahrain for the past 10 years was arrested by Bahrain police for putting pro-Israel post on social media platform X. He is already rusticated from his job.
Sunil Rao, who works as a specialist in Royal Bahrain Hospital posted on X supporting the act of Israel and opposing Palestine. Some netizens tagged this post to administration of Bahrain government and urged for action.
Bahrain is a gulf nation and it supported Palestine and opposed the action of Israel. Hence, the government considered the post of Dr Sunil seriously and he is arrested. The hospital authorities dismissed Dr Sunil from service saying that his tweet was objectionable and he has violated the code of conduct of the hospital.
Though Dr Sunil tendered apology on X, the hospital authorities did not change their stance. Dr Sunil had completed his MD from a well-known private medical college in Mangaluru. He was working in the internal medicine department of Royal Bahrain hospital for the past 10 years. His wife and two children are also settled in Bahrain.
