Mangaluru, Aug 15: The two-day Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations commenced with grandeur and spiritual fervour at Sri Krishna Balarama Mandira ISKCON, located at PVS Kalakunj, on Friday, August 15.

On the first day, from 9 am to 9 pm, the temple witnessed a vibrant schedule of bhajans, religious rituals, benne alankara, Uyyale Seve (swing service), Mahabhisheka, and other spiritual events held in devotion to Lord Krishna on the eve of Janmashtami. A large number of devotees gathered throughout the day to witness and participate in the celebrations.

The festivities will continue on August 16 with a cultural extravaganza at Sharada Vidyalaya, featuring devotional songs, a live orchestra, food stalls, and the much-anticipated ‘Sri Krishna Vaibhava’, a large-scale performance by 300 artistes from Alva’s College, showcasing episodes from the life of Lord Krishna.

The celebrations will culminate with Maharudrabhisheka at 10 pm, followed by the grand Maha Mangalarathi at midnight (12 am), marking the divine birth of Lord Krishna and bringing the event to a spiritual conclusion.
