Sullia: Rider dies, pillion injured as bike skids while overtaking bus

Sullia, Mar 12: One person was killed and another injured after the bike on which they were travelling skidded in a bid to overtake a Kerala state transport bus on the night of Friday at Injadi near Subramanya in the taluk.

Ramesh (27), a resident of Kallagudde of Subramanya, who was riding the bike, is the deceased. However, the pillion rider escaped with minor injuries.

On the night of Friday, Ramesh and his friend were riding from Kasargod to Subramanya. They overtook the Kerala state bus that was going ahead of them. As soon as they overtook, the bike skidded and both were thrown on the road. Ramesh died on the way to hospital.

A case in this connection is registered in Subramanya police station.
