Kasargod, Mar 10: Crime branch inspector R Shivashankar has been suspended for dereliction of duty. State director general of police Anil Kant issued the order after Shivashankar took inappropriate action against a woman who filed a sexual assault complaint.

Although a notice was issued following the allegations, Shivashankar's response was deemed unsatisfactory and resulted in his suspension from service.

This is not the first time that Shivashankar has faced disciplinary action for dereliction of duty, as he has received numerous show cause notices in the past. However, action has been taken in response to this latest complaint.

Shivashankar has a history of disciplinary issues dating back to 2006 and has been given suspended sentences four times. Additionally, there have been complaints of illegal wealth, defamation, and filing lawsuits against innocent people. Considering all of these factors, the decision to suspend Shivashankar from service has been made.
