Mangaluru: St Aloysius PU College celebrates its 143rd annual day with grandeur

Mangaluru Dec 9: The 143rd annual day celebration of St Aloysius PU College was held at its ground on Friday, December 9.

The commanding officer 6 Karnataka Naval unit NCC Udupi, Cdr Karthik Das was the chief guest for the annual day celebration.

Speaking on the occasion, Cdr Karthik Das recalled his days at St Aloysius institutions. He also spoke about the life lessons he learnt from his parents, family and friends. "I learnt invaluable lessons from my father that no job is menial", he added.

He also said, "The young generations are involved in substance abuse. I urge them to spend quality time with family, have two way communication, involve with like-minded people and take part in several activities which relax your mind. Have a deep meaningful friendship wherein they will guide you in the right path."

 

 

 

 

‘Have mental toughness. Seeking psychological assistance is still a taboo. If it helps you then listen to music which will elevate your stress, involve in sports, workout, surround yourself with positive people. Don’t ruin friendship for religion and political issues. Have a healthy debate and respect each other's opinion," said Karthik Das.

"Let this shrine of education be a beacon of hope which will carve your future by using the opportunity that comes your way," he added.

Finance officer Fr Pradeep Sequeira spoke about the importance of unconditional love with a story of a man and a tree.

St Aloysius PU College principal Fr Clifford Sequeira read out the annual report of the college while vice principal Charlotte D'Souza the names of prize winners.

Dignitaries handed over prizes to the achievers in sports and academics

Vice principal Murli Krishna G M welcomed the gathering, Harsh Ponnappa proposed a vote of thanks, Vibhali Shetty and Mahith Alva compered the event.

Rector of St Aloysius Institutions, Fr Melwin Pinto, deans Dr Pradeep M, Kiran Shetty, convenor Preetham V Shetty, student council's Harsh Ponappa, Anvi Shetty, Sanjana, Kris P Chowta, Ashton D'Souza and others were present.

The formal function was followed by a cultural event.
