Bantwal: Sexual harassment of girl – POCSO case filed, boy in conflict with law sent to remand home

Bantwal, Dec 9: A boy, who got acquainted with a girl on Instagram, allegedly sexually harassed her.

A case of POCSO has been filed against the accused who is in conflict with the law in terms of his age. The incident took place under the limits of Bantwal rural police station.

The girl studies in SSLC and the boy who is in conflict with the law got familiar with her through Instagram. He used to visit the girl’s house every now and then.

On December 2, around 8.30 pm, the boy took the girl on a scooter and had physical union with her. A case is filed as per the complaint given by the victim girl.

The boy has been sent to remand home.

    This is one more outcome of amendment to legislation meant for sexual abuse of children misapplied to a romantic relationship between underaged and consenting people. The law completely ignores the biological facts. In cases like these where pressure works both ways, only the boy goes to jail. Our conservative society is also not bothered as they do not want 16-18 to engage in sexual activity. Maybe they are willing to pay the price of sending their sons to jail for such hormone driven misadventure. There is also a recent HC judgement that allows Muslim girls above 15 years to get married to a person of her choice. Can HC also force husband to not have sex with lawfully wedded underage wife?

    this is a clear case of kusur pusur.. 10th std girl does not know what is going to happen if taken by a boy in scooter?....what all andha kanoon we have in this country....the boy is also minor that means it should be sorted out by talking....now that boy's life is spoilt for no reason...

    If the boy took the girl on a scooter it means that she agreed for the ride. Not possible that she could be sitting on scooter if she didn't want to. So, boys, use your brains.

    I second your comment. Is this girl that much fast forward to go out at 8 30 from home in front of her parents ? Send the girl too Remand home and inquire her parents why they let her soo free ? All problems aggravates from home when parents/guardian show negligence towards their children....and not friends/teachers. Maneye modala paata shale....Such things happening in the past too Eves, that mobiles/tvs were not to be seen. Parents used to keep quiet, thinking chedwanchi moryad vetha....kon kazar zatha? By chance they approached police station, there also problems were ready by the station people... ...i was given to understand that some years before too also 8th/9th/10th .......were forcefully raped/misused by the men, especially girls belong to poor family/drunkard father/drunkard parents....just by enticing them with onji katt golibaje or "ain paisada radd chocolates.."..
