There are quite a number of mafias such as sand, building, transport, real estate are operating in Mangalore (DK Dist). IAS/IPS officers are pressurised by many corrupt politicians and illegal business people. Honest officers like Annamalai, Sasikant Senthil and few others dont compromise with their principles. They work for the people and not to the politicains or business people. So Central and State BJP governments will have to pay heavy price for all these things. Only God can save our country and not the corrupt system.

I AM VERY VERY DEEPLY DISTURBED WITH SUCH AN OCCURRENCE!!

"The young child is free of fear; children are born without any fear. If the society can help and support them to remain without fear, can help them to climb the trees and the mountains, and swim the oceans and the rivers, if the society can help them in every possible way to become adventurers, adventurers of the unknown, and if the society can create a great enquiry instead of giving them dead beliefs, then the children will turn into great lovers, lovers of life -- and that is true religion. There is no higher religion than love."

Some 16 months back when Yadiyoorappa sworn in as CM, he first did a great job of transferring IPS Police officer Annamalai from Chikmaglur as demamnded by C.T.Ravi. Now lots of transfers take place in Karnataka. DC Sasikant Senthil resigned due to the princoples of Central and State BJP government policies. RSS leaders are interfering in every field like education, law and order, media, judiciary etc. So political system is collapsed day by day.Nobody should question the government. If someone questions, he becomes Deshdrohi. If corrupt political leaders like Mukul Roy, Narayana Rane, Himant Sharma and others join BJP, then they becaome Mr.Clean! If they dont join then they have to face the music from CBI, ED and other agencies. In this situation sincere and honest Officers like Annamalai , Sasikant Sentil and others cant work under the pressure of some corrupt politicians. Yadyurappa's drama of persuading DC Sentil was nothing but fooling the people of Mangalore.

When the able DC 's are not allowed to work according to the capabilities then why we need to appoint other DC's? If higher authorities can govern from their chair... let them only administer.. no need of appointing new ones just for name sake and transfer them within few months... Or persuade them to resign.. !!they cannot impart justice nor they can administer fairly...

Most IAS officers do not want to work as Peons of politicians. Anyone can be a politician but not IAS officer. A street thug with money power and muscle power with their political affiliation can dictate the terms to these officers and make them feel underdogs. How do we expect them to do their duty honestly and efficiently? Did someone write in this portal stating that this is not the right time to leave because of the flooding and disaster? BS. He doesn't need anyone's permission to leave. Well, take over from him, if you have an ability to manage. We need to have a legislation to make these IAS officers function independently with no interference from anyone. Interfering in discharging the duty of public servants by the politicians requires a stringent punishment.

As a keen media monitor, I found that DC Senthil led from the front with hands-on initiatives – especially in respect of tourist promotion and in combating mosquitoes to control diseases like dengue, malaria and other mosquito-related diseases by showing by example how stagnant water can breed mosquitoes that lead to the ailments and can be tackled by eliminating stagnant water - the breeding spaces for mosquitoes. He personally demonstrated where mosquitoes bred and emptied water containers which were the culprits.
As for tourism promotion, Senthil was hands-on and I still remember a photo of his parasailing in the backwaters of Falguni (Gurpur) river during a tourist promotion campaign last year.
When Senthil was at headquarters, people used to rush to his office which turned into an unregulated darbar. I had an occasion to see this when I went there to meet him regarding a book, DK Darshan, which his predecessor DC had commissioned and I had to present him a digital copy of the final draft as also a copy of my latest book, published in USA, titled Corruption - India’s Painful Crawl to Lokpal.
That the digital copy of the book is yet to be published is another matter. But what I found during that visit was that Senthil had immense patience with his visitors some of whom argued their points as they would do in a court.
In retrospect, now, I think such people-centric bureaucrats are misfits in today’s political setting.
We can only wish Senthil well in whatever he seeks to do.

From many days, observing the political scenario in this district and in the nation as a whole, unfortunate incidents like these were expected. Though the saying goes like "truth always prevails" we see that it doesn't come out. Some people commit suicide and some really upright and sincere personalities tender their resignation for the reason that cannot compromise democratic values for political pressure. Senthil Sir is a very good, sincere, kind and committed person above all he is a very good human being. Sir, your decision to resign from the post you earned with so much of struggle and hard work, is definitely not an act of running away from the clutches of political influence, rather its a serious and dangerous alert to all those who think about the betterment of our country. This country is not in safe hands. How we could encourage our children to write competitive exams. If so much of political indulgence, overpowering, domination and bossism from political circle is there on bureaucrats, how to work for the development of the country? We want you to continue your Administrative service. If it is impossible then pls enlighten our young generation about the present scenario and motivate them to think progressively and not lean towards religion and power. We salute you sir. and wish you all the best. May the Almighty bless you in every way in your decisions.

Warped Logic. Whoever resigns is honest and efficient and those continue are corrupt and dishonest. Grow up readers, soon he will join some political party in TamilNadu. Wait till then.

Self respect matters most for non corrupts...that's the crux of the issue.
Very difficult for educated admin officers to take instructions from uneducated politicians....

This is the difference between Educated and uneducated. It is very difficult to work under present day politicians. I wish his future life will be full of joy and happiness with his family.

It is most unfortunate and sad to know that DC Senthil resigned from his post. In his short period of dedicated service, he will be missed by all. Good luck in your future plans and God bless you.

Dark day in the Dakshina Kannada's history.
Imminent , honest , dynamic and efficient IAS officer resigns
Political presure is the main reason
Honest officer doesnt go opposite to their ethics which taught during their training tenure!

No IAS officer is spared by politicians. Thats what they mean by personal reason when IPS, IAS officers resign. They want to live and work with dignity as per their training and not be slaves of politicians.
