Doha, Sep 12: The Mangalore Cultural Association (MCA) held its 16th Annual General Body Meeting on August 28, at the ICC-Mumbai Hall in Doha. The meeting reviewed the past year and elected the executive committee for the 2026–28 term.
The meeting began with emcee Merlyn D’Souza inviting members to rise for the MCA anthem. She also highlighted the association’s activities over the past 18 years and thanked the advisory members and executive committee for their support.

































President Gladson Almeida welcomed the members and expressed his appreciation for their continued involvement. General secretary Carol D’Souza presented the annual and financial reports for 2025–26, which were accepted and approved by the members.
The meeting also featured the launch of the updated MCA website, developed with a fresh design and new content by media coordinator Anna Pais.
Advisory members Felix Lobo and Wilfred Fernandes addressed the gathering and shared words of encouragement.
The election of office bearers was conducted by past president Arthur Pais. Gladson Almeida was unanimously re-elected president, while Jovita Pereira-D’Souza was elected vice-president for the 2026–28 term.
MCA newly-formed Advisory Board was announced during the AGM by president Gladson Almeida. MCA founder-advisor Felix Lobo and Harry Lobo will be the chairman and vice-chairman of the Advisory Board respectively. MCA past presidents and honorary members Harry Lobo, Arthur Pais, Veena Pais, along with Aloysius D’Souza were also inducted as new advisors of MCA Qatar, on the occasion.
The AGM concluded on a warm and convivial note, with members coming together over a sumptuous breakfast and celebrating the spirit of unity and camaraderie that continues to define the Mangalore Cultural Association.
