Mangaluru: Technical snag - Air India Express passengers in Dubai wait for hours

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Mar 28: The passengers of an Air India Express flight from Dubai to the city, which was to arrive here last night, had to wait for several hours at Dubai airport. The problem is said to be technical.

The flight in question was to leave Dubai at 11.40 pm on Wednesday. The passengers boarded the plane on time. As some technical glitch was encountered at the last minute, the flight did not take off on time, it is said.

It is said that after attending to the problem, the flight took off at around 5.30 am on Thursday.

Reportedly the passengers were not kept informed of the developments or why there was inordinate delay in its departure. The passengers were made to wait inside the aircraft instead of making alternative arrangements for their stay, which created problems particularly for women and children, it is gathered.

    When passengers have to wait out of flight ,AI have to provide hotels and eatery.And that costs a lot of money.Thats why better inside till the flight is filled with other passengers form other leftover flight? Always this technical disprder.we know it .Thatswhy simply give these flights to scrap collectors Atleast you will get some money for it.so that you can repair rest.

    This is not the first time now a days every now and then some thing or other issues are there with AIE related to Mangalore Airport.. they reschedule the flight and send the email and SMS 2 or 3 hours before, by that time most of the passengers on their way to airport. Last month for my utter shock once I reached the Airport they gave me an option to wait till next flight within 6 hours with a sandwich and some water... I understand if the delay is more than 6 hours they have to provide accommodation.{Many Passenger may dont know this}

    Then they gave second option to board us in Abu Dhabi flight which was readily available after a hour after much negotiation they agreed to provide transport from Abu Dhabi to Dubai. Well I wonder around 30 Dubai bound passengers they can accommodate in Abu Dhabi flight means something seriously wrong as some one rightly said Kannur Airport may have a bigger impact on Mangalore Airport in near future.

    I think that some passengers might have thought that it may be Modiji's A-SAT effect in Atmosphere.
