Dubai, Apr 29: Bangladesh’s pace attack has made a strong statement in the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s ODI Player Rankings, following their impressive series win over New Zealand at home.
Fast bowlers Shoriful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, and Nahid Rana were instrumental in Bangladesh’s 2-1 series victory, collectively claiming 18 wickets across the three matches. Their performances have been rewarded with significant jumps in the rankings.

Shoriful moved up 11 places to 28th, while Mustafizur climbed 14 spots to reach 41st. The biggest rise came from Player of the Series Nahid Rana, who surged 16 positions to enter the top 50 at 48th, highlighting Bangladesh’s growing strength in pace bowling ahead of major international tournaments.
Bangladesh’s batting lineup also saw positive movement. Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto advanced 11 places to 32nd, while Litton Das jumped 15 spots to 65th in the ODI batting rankings after consistent performances throughout the series.
All-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz further solidified his reputation by moving up to joint third in the ODI all-rounders’ rankings. His all-round contribution in the decisive match in Chattogram played a key role in sealing the series.
Bangladesh players also made gains in the T20I rankings following the opening match of their ongoing series against New Zealand. Towhid Hridoy climbed nine places to 39th among batters after a match-winning half-century, while Parvez Hossain Emon rose to joint 40th. Among bowlers, Mahedi Hasan improved three spots to share 18th position.
Elsewhere, Nepal players also registered gains after their home series against the United Arab Emirates. Dipendra Singh Airee edged up to 60th among T20I batters, while Kushal Bhurtel made a notable jump of 18 places to joint 66th.
Both Airee and Bhurtel also improved in the T20I all-rounders’ rankings, moving to fourth and 23rd respectively, marking a productive phase for Nepal in the shortest format of the game.
