  • Judith still absconding, seeks anticipatory bail

Bangalore, Oct 23: Adam Bidapa, son of fashion guru Prasad Bidapa, who was arrested by the City Police on Thursday night, was released on bail on Saturday October 21.

Adam, who was lodged in Parappana Agrahara jail under judicial custody, was produced before a court in the afternoon yesterday.

The judge ordered his release under conditional bail. The judge directed him not to move out of Bangalore without the Court's permission.

The judge asked the accused not to tamper with evidences and told him to co-operate with the Police in the investigation.

In the meanwhile, Judith, wife of Prasad Bidapa, against whom the Ashok Nagar Police have filed a case for allegedly assaulting DCP G.B. Chabbi, is still absconding.

According to sources, she has moved a City Court seeking anticipatory bail.

As already reported Adam was arrested on Thursday night at Spinn Pub on Residency Road when the Police personnel went there to ask the owner to down sh-utters as it was already midnight.

Adam, who was coming out of the pub, started hurling abuses at the Police and assaulted Police personnel including an Assistant Sub-Inspector, the Police alleged.

DCP Chabbi, who was present at the spot, asked his subordinates to take Adam to Ashok Nagar Police Station, where a case was registered against him in the early hours of Friday.

Adam's mother Judith, who came to the Police Station along with her husband soon after learning about her son's arrest, created a ruckus and allegedly pushed Chabbi. He suffered minor injuries as he fell on the ground.

Bidapa's charge

Addressing a press conference on Friday morning Prasad Bidapa alleged that the Police had demanded Rs. 30,000 on Thursday and again Rs. 2.5 lakh on Friday as bribe from him. "They have sent my son to jail for refusing to give bribe," he alleged.

Prasad Bidapa claimed that he had spoken to the Home Minister M.P. Prakash regarding the incident and the latter had sympathised with him.

The Minister, however, told some media persons that Bidapa had not spoken to him.
