Puttur, Jun 23: A bus collided with a roundabout at the Uppinangady bus stand on Monday after it unexpectedly moved forward while the driver was reversing the vehicle.

Passengers who had travelled from Mangaluru to Uppinangady had already alighted from the bus. The incident occurred when the driver was reversing the bus to park it at the side of the bus stand. Despite applying the brakes, the vehicle failed to stop and moved forward.

To prevent a more serious mishap, the driver steered the bus into the nearby roundabout, bringing it to a halt.

The collision disrupted vehicular movement in the area for more than half an hour. Police personnel later arrived at the spot and shifted the bus to a location near the bus stand, restoring normal traffic flow.
