Media Release

Mangaluru, Jun 22: St Aloysius PU College celebrated International Yoga Day 2026 with a workshop on the theme ‘Yoga for Body, Mind & Beyond.’ In an age marked by academic pressures, digital distractions, and fast-paced lifestyles, yoga continues to offer a path to physical well-being, mental clarity, and emotional balance. More than a form of exercise, it promotes mindfulness, self-discipline, and holistic growth, making it especially relevant for today's youth.

Organised by the Yoga Club, the programme aimed to create awareness about the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life and to encourage students to embrace healthy and balanced living.

The resource person for the programme Kushalappa Gowda N, yoga therapist and founder of Avishkar Yoga, highlighted the importance of yoga in enhancing overall well-being. Stressing the need for maintaining harmony between body and mind, he encouraged students to adopt yoga as a regular practice for a healthier and more focused life.

Through a practical and engaging session, Kushalappa Gowda introduced participants to specific asanas and breathing techniques designed to improve concentration, enhance mental clarity, and promote inner calm. He demonstrated simple yet effective practices that students could easily incorporate into their daily routines to manage stress and improve overall wellness. Students actively participated in the workshop, gaining a deeper understanding of yoga's role in fostering physical fitness and emotional well-being.

The event was coordinated by Deepthi Murugeshan, Sowmya N, and Nimmy Alex. Lahari G K of II PU compered the programme.
