Udupi: SMVITM to host two international conferences on Dec 18, 19

Media Release

Udupi, Oct 1: Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, is set to host two international conferences on December 18 and 19, providing an interdisciplinary platform for researchers, academicians, industry professionals, technologists, and research scholars to present their work, exchange knowledge, and explore emerging technological developments.

The two conferences — CISC-2026 (2nd international conference on Computational Intelligence and Smart Communication) and MEEMS-2026 (international conference on Materials, Energy, Environment and Manufacturing Sciences) — will be conducted in a hybrid mode, enabling participation from both in-person and online delegates from India and abroad.

The conferences aim to promote research, encourage interdisciplinary collaboration, strengthen industry–academia interaction, and provide opportunities for researchers to share innovative ideas and solutions to contemporary engineering and societal challenges.

CISC-2026: Advancing computational intelligence and smart communication

CISC-2026 will focus on the theme ‘Trends and developments in soft computation, intelligent systems and smart communication: Pathways to the future.’

The conference will cover a wide range of contemporary research areas, including artificial intelligence and data analytics; computer vision, image processing, and biomedical applications; cyber security and blockchain technology; cloud computing, IoT, and cyber-physical systems; computational intelligence and mathematical modelling; smart communication, signal processing, and networking; VLSI, embedded systems, and microelectronics; and emerging technologies and intelligent systems.

The conference seeks to provide a forum for presenting original research, discussing technological advances, and fostering collaboration among researchers and professionals working in computational intelligence, communication technologies, and related interdisciplinary domains. Submitted papers will undergo a double-blind peer-review process to assess their originality, technical quality, and relevance.

MEEMS-2026: Research for sustainable engineering and advanced manufacturing

MEEMS-2026 will focus on interdisciplinary research connecting materials science, energy technologies, environmental sustainability, and advanced manufacturing.

The conference aims to bring together researchers and professionals working in materials engineering, renewable and sustainable energy, environmental technologies, green manufacturing, advanced materials, industrial processes, and related areas.

By encouraging interaction across engineering disciplines, MEEMS-2026 seeks to facilitate the exchange of research outcomes, innovative methodologies, and emerging technological solutions relevant to sustainable development and industrial advancement.

Building on SMVITM's research and conference initiatives

The upcoming conferences build on SMVITM's experience in organizing international research events. The institution previously hosted the MEEMS-CISC 2024 conference on December 20 and 21, 2024, at Udupi. Its proceedings were subsequently published through Atlantis Press in the Advances in Engineering Research series.

The 2026 editions are intended to expand opportunities for research dissemination, academic interaction, and collaboration among institutions and industry stakeholders.

Call for research papers

SMVITM invites original research contributions from faculty members, research scholars, students, scientists, academicians, and industry professionals for presentation at CISC-2026 and MEEMS-2026.

Researchers are encouraged to submit papers addressing the themes and technical tracks of the respective conferences.

Selected high-quality papers from CISC-2026 may be considered for publication in the Cureus Journal of Engineering, part of Springer Nature, subject to the journal's independent peer-review, editorial evaluation, and publication policies. This provides an opportunity for eligible research contributions to be considered for dissemination through an established peer-reviewed engineering journal.
