Panaji, Sep 15: The Quepem Police have successfully detected a theft case reported in Ambaulim on September 10, involving the theft of a gold mangalsutra and Rs 50,000 in cash, leading to the apprehension of two individuals.
According to an official report, the complaint was lodged at the Quepem Police Station on September 10, prompting the registration of FIR No. 40/2026 under Section 305 read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
Following sustained enquiries during the investigation, police identified and traced the suspects allegedly involved in the offense. The apprehended individuals include Aryan Mane, a resident near the Ambaulim Graveyard in Quepem, and a minor juvenile in conflict with the law.

Police confirmed that the stolen gold mangalsutra along with a portion of the stolen cash were successfully recovered at the instance of Aryan Mane.
The breakthrough and swift detection were achieved by a team led by PSI Digamber Bondre, accompanied by PC Siddhu Raul and PC Vaibhav Patil, under the supervision of PI Prashal P. N. Dessai of Quepem Police Station. Further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
