Mangaluru, Sep 10: The AICC has announced the appointment of District Congress presidents for 35 districts across the state.
Senior Billawa leader Padmaraj R Poojary, KPCC general secretary and the Congress candidate in the last Lok Sabha elections, has been appointed as the Dakshina Kannada (DK) district Congress president.
The order appointing Poojary was issued by AICC general secretary K C Venugopal.
As part of the ‘Sanghatan Srujana Abhiyan’, these appointments have been made. Under the campaign, the AICC observers assigned to each district conducted a detailed review, consulted party office-bearers and other stakeholders, and submitted comprehensive reports. The statement said that after these reports were submitted, individual consultations would be held with each candidate, along with discussions with senior leaders.
