Sullia: Man held for stealing clothes from Bellare government girls’ hostel

Sullia, Sep 9: Bellare Police have arrested a 35-year-old man in connection with the theft of clothes from the Bellare Government Girls’ Hostel. 

The complainant in the case is working as the warden of the Bellare Government Girls’ Hostel. On the morning of September 2, the clothes that the students had put out to dry were found missing. The students informed the warden about the incident.

 The complainant subsequently checked the CCTV footage, which showed an unidentified youth allegedly trespassing into the hostel in the early hours of September 2 and stealing some of the clothes put out by the students to dry. 

Based on the complaint lodged on September 5, Bellare police registered a case in Crime No. 54/2026 under Sections 331(4) and 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. 

During the investigation, police arrested the accused, identified as K Ramachandra (35), a resident of Kolthige in Puttur, on September 7. 

He was produced before the jurisdictional court, which remanded him to judicial custody until September 15.
