Prohibitory orders in Mangaluru
To ensure a smooth and transparent examination process within the Mangaluru police commissionerate limits, K Ravishankar, deputy commissioner of police (crime and traffic) and special executive magistrate, has clamped prohibitory orders under a 200-metre radius around all 12 centres.
The gathering of five or more persons, excluding candidates, is strictly banned. Practices such as passing answer chits, assisting in malpractice, or communicating through gestures are entirely barred. Carrying lethal weapons, explosives, or corrosive substances like acids into the zone is strictly forbidden. Furthermore, all photocopy (Xerox) and computer shops within the 200-metre radius must remain closed from one hour prior to the exam until its conclusion. The use of mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, and pagers is completely banned inside the premises.
Tight security and arrangements in Udupi
In Udupi district, the examination will take place from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM. Candidates have been granted an additional 15 minutes of time this year, while differently-abled students will receive an extra hour as per regulations. The 2,970 registered candidates include 938 boys, 2,032 girls, and eight students under other categories.
Security has been heightened significantly in Udupi following instructions from the central government. Personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) have been deployed at all centres. Additionally, nine observers from the NTA, six executive magistrates appointed by the deputy commissioner, and state police personnel—including a sub-inspector and four staff members per centre—are on duty.
All centres are equipped with CCTV surveillance, metal detectors, and separate frisking arrangements for boys and girls. Entrance to the examination halls will be permitted only after biometric authentication. Candidates must arrive at least one hour before the commencement, with verification starting at 11:00 AM. No entry will be permitted after 1:30 PM. The centres will provide drinking water, restroom facilities, healthcare assistants, uninterrupted power supply, and standby fire tenders.
Guidelines for candidates
Students are mandated to carry their admit card, a valid original identity proof (Aadhaar card, PAN card, driving licence, or college ID), and two passport-size photographs. Barred items include mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, Bluetooth devices, earphones, electronic gadgets, wallets, and handbags.
