Jio may file draft IPO papers within days: Report

Daijiworld Media Network – Mumbai

Mumbai, Jun 17: Reliance Jio Infocomm is expected to file draft papers for its much-anticipated initial public offering (IPO) worth around $4 billion within the next few days, according to a report by the Financial Times.

The filing is likely to come ahead of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani's annual address to shareholders on Friday, a closely watched event for investors and industry observers.

At Reliance Industries' annual general meeting (AGM) last year, Ambani had indicated that Jio, India's largest telecom operator, would be listed during the first half of 2026. The anticipated filing is being viewed as a significant step towards fulfilling that commitment.

However, the company now appears set to miss the timeline outlined earlier, as Reliance Industries has faced a challenging year. The conglomerate's shares have fallen by around 15 per cent in 2026, while its net profit for the quarter ended March declined 13 per cent year-on-year.

The decline in earnings has largely been attributed to disruptions in Reliance's core refining business amid geopolitical tensions and volatility in the Gulf region.

A Jio IPO is expected to be among the biggest public offerings in India and could unlock significant value for Reliance Industries, which has invested heavily in building the telecom and digital services giant over the past decade.

Market participants will be closely watching Friday's AGM for any official announcements regarding the proposed listing and the company's future growth plans.
