Udupi, Sep 5: Students of St Cecily’s English Medium Higher Primary School (CBSE), Udupi, expressed their heartfelt love and gratitude to their teachers on the occasion of Teachers’ Day celebrated on September 4. The celebration also marked Girl Child Day, making it a meaningful tribute to both the invaluable role of teachers and the strength, potential and dignity of every girl child.

Classrooms wore a festive look as students enthusiastically decorated them and bulletin boards with their expressions of greetings and gratitude for their teachers. The significant day which honors the selfless service and dedication of teachers, was also commemorated with a meaningful variety entertainment programme hosted by students of grades 6A and 7C.

The dual celebration commenced with a devotional prayer seeking blessings on every girl child created with an immense potential to nurture, inspire and transform the world, and upon every teacher for the love, and selfless service of moulding young minds into future ready individuals.

Ruthvi, 7C extended a loving welcome to the chief guest, Melita Lydia D Almeida, the school counsellor along with principal, Sr Lathika AC, administrator, Sr Maria Roopa AC, and all staff members. Her words beautifully took the form of a mesmerizing welcome dance. The programme featured meaningful skits performed, greeting songs and dances which enriched the purpose of the celebration, enlivened the spirit of enjoyment and entertained the faculty and student audience.

The school cabinet members also presented an entertaining skit and dance and presents a thoughtful token of their appreciation to the teachers.

In her keynote address, the chief guest Melita lauded the performance of the students. She emphasized that every girl is a super-power endowed with multitude of powers such as resilience, love, tolerance and inner strength. To reinforce this message, she narrated an inspiring story depicting how God created a woman the creation of woman and qualities such as resilience, love, tolerance, compassion and inner strength. Reflecting on the significance of Teachers’ Day, she observed that the future of every individual is shaped by education and choice with teachers playing a pivotal role in nurturing these formative years with love and care.

She felicitated and awarded scholar badges to those who excelled in periodic test 2.

Addressing the gathering, the principal, Sr Lathika expressed her appreciation to the students for their creative and thoughtful expressions of love and respect to the teachers.

The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Aleena grade 6 A. The celebration served as a beautiful reminder that teachers illuminate the path of learning, while empowered girls illuminate the path towards a stronger and brighter future.
