Udupi: Teachers' Day celebrated with enthusiasm at SMES, Kannarpady

Udupi, Sep 5: Teachers' Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and reverence at St Marys English Medium School, Kannarpady on September 4, under the leadership of the student council.

The programme was graced by correspondent Fr Denis D’Souza, principal Fr Vijay Joyson D’Souza, vice principal Rita Quadros, head boy Parth, head girl Brahmi and the section coordinators.

The formal programme began with a prayer song presented by the student choir, followed by the welcome address delivered by head boy Parth. In his message, principal Fr Vijay Joyson D’Souza highlighted the dedication, commitment and hard work of teachers behind the success stories of their students.

A cake-cutting ceremony was held, followed by a floral tribute to the portrait of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Astle briefed the gathering on the significance of Teachers’ Day.

In his presidential address, correspondent Fr Denis D’Souza urged students to honour and glorify their teachers by achieving success and becoming responsible individuals in life.

The student cabinet members organised fun-filled lucky games for the teachers. Adding to the celebrations, students presented dances, wishing songs and a skit portraying the important role played by teachers in motivating and guiding students.

The programme was compered by Siddharth and Naza and concluded on a joyful and memorable note.
