Eighth day of Novena devotion preceding annual feast of St Anthony held at Dornahalli

Mysuru, Jun 11: The eighth day of the Novena devotion in preparation for the grand annual feast of St Anthony was solemnly celebrated on Thursday, June 11 at St Anthony’s Basilica, Dornahalli, Mysuru.

The solemn Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Fr Bernard Prakash Barnis, parish priest, St Mary’s Church, H D Kote. He was joined by Fr David Sagayaraj, rector of St Anthony’s Basilica, and Fr Praveen Pedru, administrator of the Basilica.

A large gathering of devotees participated in the Holy Mass and Novena service, offering prayers and seeking the intercession of St Anthony. In his homily, Fr Bernard Prakash Barnis reflected on the importance of faith, perseverance, and Christian witness, encouraging the faithful to remain rooted in God's love and mercy.

Following the Eucharistic celebration, the Novena prayers were offered in honour of St Anthony for the intentions of the devotees. The devotion concluded with the procession of the holy statue of St Anthony and the benediction of the blessed sacrament, creating a prayerful atmosphere of devotion and spiritual renewal.

With the Novena nearing its conclusion, pilgrims and devotees continue to arrive at the Basilica in large numbers, preparing their hearts and minds for the joyous celebration of the annual feast of St Anthony.
