Udupi, Jul 27: The logo for the decennial celebrations of the Udupi District Bakers and Food Manufacturers & Vendors Association, along with the logo for the Food Industry Expo scheduled to be held in November, was unveiled at a function held on Sunday at Kunkum Hall, City Centre, Brahmavar.
Speaking after unveiling the association's logo, Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna said that Udupi's ready-to-eat food and traditional snacks have earned special recognition across the world. He noted that Udupi hotels are renowned for their hygienic and delicious food, which is in demand everywhere. He added that the people of this region are known for their hard work and succeed wherever they go, expressing hope that bakery products from Udupi would also gain greater global recognition.
Former MP K Jayaprakash Hegde, who unveiled the logo of the Indian Bakers Federation, stressed the need to give priority to traditional and healthy food products. He said that, besides maintaining quality and hygiene, greater attention should be paid to waste management. He appreciated the association's efforts in working collectively to address the issues faced by entrepreneurs.
Former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake unveiled the logo marking the association's decennial year, while Kundapur MLA Kiran Kumar Kodgi unveiled the logo of the Karnataka Bakery and Sweets Association.
Industrialists Prasad Raj Kanchan, Muniyal Uday Kumar Shetty, Santosh Wagle, Belapu Devi Prasad Shetty, Manohar Shetty, labour union leader Ravi Shetty Baindoor, joint director of Industries Gokul Das Nayak, and assistant director of the department of Planning and Youth Empowerment Roshan Kumar Shetty attended the program as chief guests.
