Bantwal, May 31: A devastating fire, suspected to have been triggered by a short circuit, completely gutted a house in Kumdelu on Saturday afternoon.

The temporary residence belonged to a man named Sunil. Fortunately, no one was inside the house when the fire broke out. However, all the household items and belongings were entirely reduced to ashes in the blaze.

According to reports, Sunil is currently having a new house constructed. In the meantime, he and his family were residing in this temporary adjacent structure, which was built with a roof of tiles and metal sheets.

Upon noticing the flames, local residents immediately rushed to the spot and joined hands with the fire brigade personnel to douse the fire. Despite their collective efforts to extinguish the blaze, the fire had already caused extensive damage and a significant financial loss to the family before it could be brought fully under control.
