Mangaluru, Oct 3: Mangaluru police have cracked two house burglary cases in a swift 24-hour operation, arresting two alleged burglars from Delhi in Vadodara with the assistance of Gujarat Police and recovering stolen property, including gold jewellery, worth around Rs 18 lac.
The arrested men have been identified as Armaan Khan alias Aman Soni, 34, son of Shokin, a resident of Gokul Puri in North-East Delhi, and Sanjeev Kumar alias Johnny, 34, son of Vishnu Jat, a resident of Sultan Puri in New Delhi.
Police said the breakthrough followed a burglary at a house in the Sahayoga Residency Complex on Alake Kambla Cross Road on September 28, 2026.

The occupants had locked the house and left for the market at around 3 pm. When they returned at approximately 5.10 pm, they found the front-door latch broken and the house ransacked.
The burglars had allegedly escaped with gold jewellery worth around Rs 14 lac, cash, a watch and a trolley bag, among other belongings.
The Mangaluru North police registered Crime No. 121/2026 under Sections 331(3) and 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and launched an investigation.
The police were simultaneously investigating another house-breaking case reported on September 27 within the limits of Barke police station. In that incident, burglars allegedly broke open a locker at a house on Bokkapatna Road during the daytime. Finding no valuables, they allegedly stole cheque books. The case was registered as Crime No. 86/2026 under Sections 331(3) and 305 of the BNS.
As investigators tracked the suspects' movements, a special team working under the guidance of the assistant commissioner of police, Central sub-division, learnt that the alleged burglars had boarded a train and were travelling towards Delhi after the offences.
The Mangaluru police immediately sought the assistance of the Vadodara Police in Gujarat, leading to a coordinated operation. The two suspects were arrested in Vadodara on September 29, within 24 hours of the case being registered, police said.
Police said all the stolen property was recovered from the accused, with the total value of the recovered items estimated at around Rs 18 lac.
The two men were subsequently brought from Vadodara to Mangaluru and produced before the jurisdictional court, which remanded them to judicial custody. Police said they would seek their custody for further investigation.
The police release also throws the spotlight on the alleged criminal history of Armaan Khan. According to Mangaluru police, more than 40 house burglary cases have been registered against him in different cities across the country, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Goa and Hyderabad.
Police further said that warrants and a proclamation are pending against Khan. Details of his arrest have been shared with the concerned police stations for further necessary action.
