Beltangady: Child trapped in locked car, rescued after window smashed in Maddadka

Beltangady, May 25: A routine stop turned into a tense rescue operation at Maddadka in Kuvettu village of Beltangady taluk on Sunday, after a child was accidentally locked inside a car when its automatic locking system reportedly engaged.

According to reports, the driver had parked the vehicle and stepped away to a nearby shop. In his absence, the car’s auto-lock system activated unexpectedly, leaving the child stranded inside the locked vehicle.

Panic quickly spread in the area as concerned locals gathered at the spot and made repeated attempts to open the car door. Despite their efforts, the door could not be unlocked, adding to the growing anxiety.

With the situation becoming increasingly critical, members of the public eventually broke the car window glass to gain access and safely rescue the child.

The child was brought out safely without any injuries, according to local sources, bringing relief after the brief but alarming incident.
