Mangaluru, May 22: The Learning Centre (TLC) School, Mangaluru, on Friday announced the Cambridge IGCSE results of it’s first-ever grade 10 cohort. A total of 16 students appeared under Centre IA557 in the March 2026 examination series of Cambridge International. Eleven of the sixteen students earned at least one A* grade and two students secured straight A* profiles across all subjects.
The strongest results were recorded in Mathematics (14 of 16 students secured A or A*), Physics (12 of 14), English (13 of 16) and Chemistry (11 of 15). The results mark TLC’s entry into the international examination landscape, positioning the school among the early Cambridge IGCSE institutions in Mangaluru to successfully guide a full cohort through the board examination pathway.
For Mangaluru—a city long known for its CBSE, ICSE and state-board institutions—the development adds a globally recognised option to the secondary education landscape. The Cambridge IGCSE is accepted by universities and employers in over 160 countries, and is considered to be equivalent to Class 10 of an Indian board by Association of Indian Universities.

TLC School’s First IGCSE Cohort

Why this matters for Mangaluru
Until recently, families seeking a full Cambridge IGCSE pathway in Mangaluru had limited options. With this first cohort, TLC School joins a small group of institutions in the city offering the Cambridge international curriculum at the secondary level, providing local families with a globally recognised academic pathway without the need to relocate to metropolitan cities or abroad.
According to Cambridge International, more than 800 schools in India now offer the Cambridge curriculum, with the most recent March examinations recording approximately 85,000 entries. This is an 11% increase over the previous year, with particularly strong growth in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. TLC School’s first cohort places Mangaluru within this growing national trend.
About Cambridge IGCSE
The Cambridge IGCSE is an internationally recognised Grade 10 qualification offered by Cambridge International Education. It is accepted by schools, colleges and universities across India and abroad, and is known for its emphasis on critical thinking, independent analysis, and the practical application of knowledge over rote memorization. An A* is the highest grade awarded under the system and represents outstanding performance in the subject.
“This first cohort has tested not only our students, but the institution itself. The results show that children in Mangaluru can access a serious international curriculum without leaving the city. We are proud of every student in this group, and are committed to strengthening the school further for every learner who joins us,” said Vijay Moras, founder and director, The Learning Centre Trust.
