Sydney, Apr 23: ‘Bisu Parbha 2026’, the traditional New Year festival of the Tuluva community, was celebrated with warmth and enthusiasm in Sydney on Sunday, April 19, at the Galston Community Center. The event, organised by Tulu Koota Sydney, brought together families and community members for a day filled with tradition, culture, and togetherness.

The celebrations began with a traditional welcome and lighting of the lamp, followed by a brief introduction to the significance of Bisu Parbha. A beautifully arranged Bisu Kani was displayed, reflecting the customs followed back home and symbolising prosperity and good fortune for the year ahead.

The program featured a variety of cultural performances by both children and adults. Dance, music, and fun activities kept the audience engaged throughout the afternoon. The event also provided a wonderful platform for young members of the community to showcase their talents and connect with their cultural roots.

A traditional vegetarian meal was served, which added to the festive spirit and gave everyone an opportunity to sit together and enjoy the celebrations. The gathering created a warm and friendly atmosphere, allowing families to reconnect and celebrate their shared heritage.

The event was well attended and appreciated by the community. The efforts of the organisers and volunteers were widely acknowledged for making the celebration smooth and memorable. Bisu Parbha 2026 in Sydney once again highlighted the strong sense of unity and cultural pride within the Tuluva community.
