Mangaluru: 29-year-old rider killed after bike collision, run over by tipper lorry

Mangaluru, Apr 12: A 29-year-old two-wheeler rider lost his life in a tragic road accident on the Nanthoor-Pumpwell service road on National Highway 66 on Saturday night, April 11.

The deceased has been identified as Gopal (29), a resident of Mulihithlu, who was employed at a bakery in Gurupura.

According to sources, the accident occurred when Gopal’s bike rammed into another scooter ridden by Mohan Kumar. Due to the impact, Gopal fell onto the road and came under the wheels of a passing tipper lorry, resulting in his death on the spot.

Mohan Kumar, who sustained injuries in the collision, was rushed to a hospital for treatment.

Mangaluru traffic police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.

    Pumpwell to nantoor there is a sevice road which connects to highway but I can see vehicles coming from opposite direction. Can someone tell is it one-way or two way.
