Mangaluru: Body found near fishing harbour, murder suspected

Mangaluru, Apr 9: A body was found in the river near the city’s fishing harbour on Wednesday, raising suspicion of murder.

The deceased has been identified as Mohiddin Nasir (50), a resident of Bengre.

The body was found in the water along the riverbank. Injuries were noticed on the body, leading to suspicion that he may have been assaulted and killed by unidentified persons. Police have registered a murder case.

Locals have informed that a few individuals from North Karnataka were seen inquiring in the harbour area about a missing mobile phone. Police commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy stated that an investigation is underway. It is suspected that the murder could be linked to the mobile phone issue.
