Bantwal: Vittal police seize 18g MDMA worth Rs 1.79 lac, four arrested

Bantwal, March 11: The Vittal police have arrested four individuals for allegedly selling illegal drugs in the Bhagavant Kodi area of Netlu Mudnur village in Bantwal taluk.

According to police sources, Ashraf G (38), who was residing in a rented house, had been storing MDMA and supplying it to customers. Acting on this intelligence, Ratnakumar M, assistant sub-inspector (Investigation-1) of Vittal police station, led a team to conduct a raid at the premises.

During the operation, Ashraf G, along with Hafeez (also known as Appi), Afwan, and Ashraf N A, were taken into custody.

A search of the house uncovered approximately 17.97 grams of MDMA, valued at around Rs 1,79,700, along with a knife and other items.

The police have confiscated all seized items and registered a case at Vittal police station under Criminal Case No. 61/2026.

The accused have been booked under Sections 8(C) and 22(C) of the NDPS Act, 1985, and Section 27 of the Arms Act. Further investigations are ongoing, with authorities examining the network behind the drug operation.
