Mangaluru: Kavoor police crack jewellery theft case within 24 hours, arrest accused

Mangaluru, Mar 11: In a swift operation, the Kavoor police successfully arrested an accused within 24 hours in connection with a gold and silver jewellery theft case reported at a house in Ullasnagar.

According to a statement from the city police, all the stolen properties have been recovered from the accused, who has been remanded to judicial custody.

The theft occurred on March 7 around 12 noon at a residence in Ullasnagar, Kavoor, when the occupants were away. The culprits gained entry by breaking the lock of the front door.

A complaint was subsequently filed with the Kavoor police, stating that 39 grams of gold jewellery and 182 grams of silver ornaments, together valued at approximately Rs 4,80,000, had been stolen from the premises.

Acting on the complaint, the Kavoor police registered a case and initiated a search. Through efficient investigation, the team tracked down the suspect within a day of the reported crime.

The police have emphasized that the prompt arrest and recovery of the valuables were made possible through coordinated efforts by the station personnel.
