Manipal School celebrates Annual Day 2025 with Sankalp – Dreams for Future: India @ 2047

Mangaluru, Dec 5: Manipal School, Mangaluru, hosted its grand Annual Day 2025–26 on December 2 at the T M A Pai Convention Centre. Embodying the theme “Sankalp – Dreams for Future: India @ 2047,” the event showcased students’ creativity, commitment, and futuristic vision for India.

The programme commenced with the National Anthem, followed by a soulful prayer. The celebration then began with the auspicious lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. Chief guest Geetha D Kulkarni (assistant commissioner of Police – CCRB, Mangaluru), AGE administrator Sreedhar Ranganath Pai, principal Srilatha Alva, vice principal Shilpa Moger, headmistress Sapna Shetty, PTA president Sachin K J, PTA vice president Sunitha Furtado, and school captain Saanvi together illuminated the lamp, symbolising the spread of knowledge, wisdom, and positivity as the programme commenced.

A formal Introduction of the chief guest was followed by the felicitation ceremony, honouring the dignitary for her service and contributions. Thereafter, the programme continued with the merit awards, celebrating academic excellence in the Secondary School Examination 2024–25.

Addressing the gathering, chief guest Kulkarni commended the students of Manipal School and offered special appreciation to Grade 12 for their dedication, discipline, and exemplary conduct. She urged everyone to remain vigilant in the digital world and highlighted three essential safety rules: to avoid opening unknown or suspicious links that could compromise personal data; to refrain from answering video calls from unfamiliar numbers to prevent online harassment or misuse of images; and to never share financial information over the phone, especially with unknown callers, to stay protected from fraud.

She highlighted education as a powerful tool of empowerment, encouraging students to think critically, dream boldly, and let education guide them toward a brighter world. Encouraging students to dream boldly and act purposefully, she affirmed, “Let education be your guide, your strength, and your path to a brighter world.”

The chief guest also released the Mangaluru City Police Anti-Drug & Awareness Committee booklet and called upon students and parents to use the Anonymous Reporting System to counter drug abuse and cyber fraud.

The Principal’s address captured the school’s year-round achievements and its continued commitment to excellence, safety, innovation, and inclusive learning.

Following the instrumental medley, the administrator, Sreedhar Ranganath Pai, delivered an insightful address. He highlighted the importance of values, responsibility, and active citizenship in shaping India’s future. He emphasised the need for students to develop clarity of purpose and contribute meaningfully to nation-building.

He presented the 9 Sankalp commitments for India @ 2047, urging every student and parent to adopt these simple yet powerful practices:

• Save Water – Conserve water and protect rivers, lakes, and water bodies.
• Plant One Tree in the Name of Mother – Every citizen should plant at least one tree dedicated to “Mother”.
• Maintain Cleanliness – Keep your surroundings, neighbourhood, and public places clean.
• Vocal for Local – Promote and use local, swadeshi products.
• Explore India – Visit and appreciate India’s cultural and historical heritage.
• Encourage Natural/Organic Farming – Support natural agriculture and sustainable living.
• Adopt a Healthy Lifestyle – Prefer nutritious foods like millets and reduce unhealthy habits.
• Practice Yoga / Physical Fitness Daily – Engage in yoga, sports, or daily exercise.
• Help One Poor Person – Support at least one underprivileged individual or family.

He also highlighted the Sages Scholarship, a MAHE initiative, which provides deserving students with opportunities for higher education, skill development, and academic advancement. He appreciated the students for their consistent hard work and encouraged them to aim high while remaining rooted in values and discipline.

The pre-primary cultural programme, parents’ commendation, and students’ tribute added emotional warmth to the evening.

The grand cultural programme followed, featuring a series of well-curated, theme-based performances by each grade, creatively imagining India in 2047:

• Grade 1 – Swachh Bharat, Sundar Bharat
• Grade 2 – Tech India: Life in a Digital World

• Grade 9 – Youth Power: India’s Changemakers
• Grade 11 – Innovation for Humanity
• Grade 12 – Global India: Leading the World

The grand finale brought all performers together for a powerful conclusion of the enactment, depicting a united and futuristic India envisioned for 2047. A lively staff encore further added charm and drew enthusiastic applause.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to students, staff, parents, and supporters for making the event a memorable success.

The Annual Day 2025 embodied the spirit of SANKALP—a promise by young learners to dream, aspire, and build the India of tomorrow, reflecting Manipal School’s commitment to nurturing responsible and visionary citizens.
