Mangaluru, Sep 20: Donald Denzil Mascarenhas, aged 32, has always been a hardworking and responsible young man. He has carried the burden of supporting his family through incredibly difficult times. A few years ago, his father met with a tragic accident, losing a leg and becoming permanently bedridden. Since then, Donald became the sole pillar of strength for his family, working tirelessly to lift them out of poverty.

Unfortunately, life dealt him another cruel blow. Last year, Donald was diagnosed with acute kidney disease, turning his world upside down. He now requires dialysis twice a week, which is not only physically exhausting but also financially overwhelming.

Donald lives in Mattadagudde, Gurupura, Mangaluru, with his mother, younger brother, and his bedridden father. His brother earns a very modest income that barely covers the family's daily needs, let alone medical expenses. The family has already incurred over Rs 5 lac in debt, borrowed from relatives and friends, to cover Donald's treatment so far — on top of the debt from his father's earlier medical care.

Today, they are at a breaking point. Donald is struggling to even afford his next dialysis session. The family is in urgent need of financial assistance to continue his treatment and give him a chance at recovery.
