Mangaluru, Nov 6: Carmel School, Kotekar, celebrated its much-awaited event, Carmel Kaleidoscope – Talents Day 2025, with great joy and enthusiasm on the of November 4 and 5. The two-day celebration provided a vibrant platform for students to showcase their creativity, confidence, and unique talents through a wide range of individual and group competitions.

The inaugural ceremony of Carmel Kaleidoscope – Talents Day 2K25 was held on November 4. The event was graced by the presence of the chief guest, Anita D’Cruz, principal of St Ann’s DEd College, Mangaluru, along with the Principal, Sr Pramila, administrator, Sr Julie Ann, vice principal, Sr Anitha, PTA vice president, Sudheer, and PTA coordinator, Veekshitha, whose presence added warmth and inspiration to the occasion. The programme began with a soulful prayer song by the students, invoking divine blessings for the day, followed by a cordial welcome address by Sarita, who introduced the chief guest and highlighted the significance of the event. The ceremony was efficiently compered by Flavitha, who guided the programme with grace and confidence. Swetha R presented an overview of the two-day programme, setting the tone for a celebration of creativity and expression.

Anita D’Cruz in her inspiring address expressed her happiness in inaugurating the event and beautifully compared the kaleidoscope to the colorful talents of children. She appreciated the meticulous planning and guidance of the principal, Sr Pramila, and congratulated the management and staff for organizing an event that nurtures creativity and confidence. Emphasizing that true education extends beyond textbooks, she encouraged students to explore their potential, face challenges with confidence, and make the most of these two days filled with colour and creativity.

Following the inauguration, the day unfolded with a series of exciting individual events such as cereal art, action song, colour clay modelling, mono act, fancy dress, kite making, mask making, wall hanging, and pebble art. Group events like vegetable and fruit carving, coconut leaf art, dry flower arrangement, group fancy dress, folk dance, rangoli, and group advertisement filled the campus with colour, rhythm, and enthusiasm. Each performance reflected the students’ creativity, teamwork, and dedication, making the day truly memorable.

The second day, November 5 witnessed equally spirited participation. Students from higher grades showcased their skills in creative competitions such as print on shirt, upcycled art – making décor, and group events like folk dance, rangoli, and advertisement skit. The lively and festive atmosphere resonated with applause, cheer, and a strong sense of sportsmanship as participants encouraged one another throughout the day.

The closing ceremony was held in the afternoon with Tripthi as the master of ceremony. The programme began with a prayer song by the students, followed by a warm welcome address by Swetha S, who introduced the chief guest, Sr Sheethal, headmistress of Stella Maris Kannada Primary School, Kotekar. The event was honoured by the presence of principal, Sr Pramila, administrator, Sr Julie Ann, vice principal, Sr Anitha, and PTA vice president, Sudheer, whose participation made the occasion more special.

The highlight of the ceremony was the variety entertainment programme titled 'A burst of brilliance', featuring captivating performances that reflected creativity, humour, and grace. In her address, the chief guest, Sr Sheethal, remarked that talents day was not merely a celebration of performances but a reflection of the creativity, enthusiasm, and potential nurtured within the school’s supportive environment. She emphasized that education encompasses creativity, communication, teamwork, and self-expression, extending beyond academics. Quoting the example of Lata Mangeshkar, she highlighted that when talent is nurtured with passion and perseverance, it can lead to greatness. She concluded her address with an inspiring message: 'Talent is a seed, but hard work is the sunshine that helps it grow', encouraging students to carry forward the spirit of creativity and dedication.

The announcement of winners by Preethika and Swetha R brought moments of joy and applause, followed by a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Deeksha Shetty, who expressed gratitude to the management, staff, students, and support team for their tireless efforts in making the event a grand success.

The two-day Carmel Kaleidoscope – Talents Day 2025 came to a close with the melodious strains of the school anthem as the Carmel family joined in harmony, cherishing the spirit of togetherness and accomplishment. The event truly reflected the school’s commitment to fostering holistic development—nurturing not just minds, but hearts filled with creativity, confidence, and joy.
