Media Release

Mangaluru, Sep 19: The class II students of St Theresa’s School, Bendur, Mangaluru, went on an enriching educational trip to the Pandeshwar post office on Tuesday, September 16. The visit, organized in two batches for convenience, began with sections A and B travelling in the first bus, and sections C and D in the second.

Upon arrival, the students received a warm welcome from the post office staff, who guided them through various sections of the facility. The young learners were first introduced to the post box, postal symbols, and important signs in an interactive session that encouraged active participation.

The staff also familiarized the children with the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, highlighting its importance as a savings scheme for the girl child. Later, Maxim Braggs from the postal team explained the significance of the PIN code system and demonstrated different postal services including mail sorting, money orders, and savings accounts.

One of the highlights of the visit was the stamps and coins collection section, where students were fascinated by the wide range of stamps from various countries and coins of great value. Their curiosity was evident as they eagerly posed questions to the staff.

The trip concluded with a group photograph with the postmaster, creating a memorable moment for both the students and teachers.

The visit proved to be educational, engaging, and inspiring, offering the children first-hand insights into the functioning of the postal system and its vital role in daily life.
