Bantwal, Aug 11: Jagannath Shetty, a seasoned police officer with over 25 years of service, has been promoted to assistant sub-inspector (ASI) and transferred to Bantwal Rural police station.

Shetty’s policing journey began in 1997, and since then, he has held key roles across multiple units in the district. After starting at Bantwal police station in 1998, he served in the Mangaluru Rowdy Control Squad, Bantwal Circle Superintendent’s Office, Uppinangady, Punjalkatte, and several other police stations. His diverse experience also includes postings at the Mangalore Additional Superintendent’s Office and ISD Bantwal.

Rising through the ranks, Shetty was promoted to head constable and served at the Bantwal Traffic police station. His career also saw him in specialised roles with the forest department in Mangaluru and the special division of the Superintendent of Police’s office.

Most recently stationed at the deputy superintendent of police (DYSP) office in Bantwal, Shetty’s promotion to ASI and transfer to Bantwal Rural police station marks a new chapter in his distinguished career, bringing his extensive expertise closer to the grassroots level.
