Doha, June 23: The 32nd annual general meeting of Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC) Qatar was held at ICC Ashoka Hall on June 20, witnessing enthusiastic participation from the Mangalurean community in Qatar. The meeting began with a prayer by cultural secretary Meena Mascarenhas. Reena Castelino emceed the event, leading the proceedings with poise.
President Naveen D’Souza, along with his executive committee, was invited to the dais. General secretary Renzil Jaison D’Souza presented the annual report for 2024–25, outlining MCC’s activities and achievements. Treasurer Anup D’Souza then presented the financial report, which, along with the annual report, was unanimously approved.






























In his farewell address, outgoing president Naveen D’Souza expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the club for two terms. He highlighted signature programmes such as the Global Konkani Comedy Challenge, Global Baila Challenge, and Mangalorean Day. He thanked the committee and members for their support and called for continued cooperation.
The outgoing committee, including subcommittees and varado gurkars, was formally dissolved. A video montage showcasing MCC’s achievements from 2021 to 2025 under D’Souza’s leadership was screened and received with applause.
Election officer Riana Pinto conducted the election, announced the new office-bearers, and administered the oath.

The gurkars of the eight varados were invited on stage for a group photo with the new committee, followed by a photo session with the MCC advisors.
In his inaugural address, Christen Denzil Lobo thanked members for electing him and shared insights into his journey with MCC. He appealed for the continued support of the community and shared plans for the club's future events.
Advisor Sunil D’Souza announced the newly appointed cultural advisory team: Riana Pinto, Reena Castelino, Kavita Tauro, and Wendy Lewis.
Cultural performances included:
- “Muje Kaliz Mogar Podla,” sung by Carol D'Cunha with a dance by Glen D’Souza, Raison Ferrao, Ancita D’Souza, and Jostna D’Souza, choreographed by Sean Fernandes and Carol D’Cunha.
- A solo of “Punvecho Chandrem” by Naveen Fernandes.
- A Konkani comedy skit by George Menezes and Ancita D’Souza.
MC Reena conducted spot games, including a lively round of Bingo. The dinner prayer was led by advisor Sunil D’Souza, followed by a fellowship dinner.
The MCC executive committee thanked all members and well-wishers for their support in making the 32nd annual day a memorable success.
