Media Release

Udupi, May 9: As part of the ongoing Operation Sindhoora, fishermen from the coastal districts have pledged their full support to the security forces in monitoring the coastline and maritime areas of the region.

Speaking to the media, Udupi MLA and president of the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi District Cooperative Fish Marketing Federation, Yashpal Suvarna, stated that the fishermen are ever-prepared to cooperate with the forces in ensuring coastal security.

The Karnataka coastline stretches for about 330 kilometres, and fishermen have already been briefed to remain vigilant during fishing activities, especially in identifying and reporting suspicious individuals and boats.

Leaders of various fishermen's associations at the ports have also taken proactive steps to communicate necessary instructions and information to ensure that the community remains alert and ready to serve during any national emergency.
