Sanjay Raut criticizes PM Modi’s response to terror attack, demands Shah’s resignation

Mumbai, May 3: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Saturday took a sharp dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, questioning his public appearances and demeanor following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. He also demanded the resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, alleging a serious security lapse.

“A horrific massacre occurred in Kashmir, and the Prime Minister claimed Pakistan would be taught a lesson. But just days later, he was seen spending hours with Bollywood celebrities in Mumbai and campaigning in Bihar,” Raut told reporters, referring to Modi’s presence at the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) in Mumbai on Thursday.

Raut accused the PM of lacking seriousness in his posture and actions amid heightened national security concerns. “While we are worried about how India will respond, the Prime Minister seems to be in a cheerful mood. His body language doesn’t show any sign of preparing for retaliation,” Raut said.

He added that while military drills and air force sorties may be underway, such actions are standard in a country sharing borders with China and Pakistan. “I am not a defence expert, but nothing suggests an extraordinary response,” he said.

Raut also took aim at the BJP leadership’s earlier rhetoric, stating, “At the all-party meeting, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh spoke of wiping out Pakistan, and Amit Shah said ‘chun chun ke marenge’ (we’ll hunt them down one by one). Who is stopping you?”

He concluded by holding the government accountable for security failures and reiterated his demand for Amit Shah’s resignation.
