Imphal, Sep 6: Women voters continued to outnumber men in Manipur’s final electoral rolls published on Sunday following completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) across the state, officials said.
Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Arun Kumar Sinha said that, with July 1, 2026, as the qualifying date, Manipur has a total of **19,60,620 registered voters**.
The electorate comprises **10,06,962 women, 9,53,350 men and 308 third-gender electors**. The gender ratio stands at **1,056**, significantly higher than the national average, Sinha said.
A total of **56,871 electors were added**, while **30,650 voters were deleted** from the draft electoral rolls during the revision process.
Sinha said the final electoral rolls for all **60 Assembly Constituencies** of Manipur, covering both valley and hill regions, were published on Sunday by the respective Electoral Registration Officers (EROs).
The draft electoral rolls were published on July 5 with **19,34,399 electors**, including **9,93,660 female voters**.
A total of **1,58,677 electors whose Enumeration Forms were not received** were excluded from the draft rolls. The probable reasons included **34,740 absent electors, 72,473 shifted electors, 43,000 deceased electors, 7,394 duplicate entries and 1,070 cases under other reasons**.
During the claims and objections period from July 5 to August 4, a total of **96,985 claims and objections** were filed. These were scrutinised by **60 EROs and 84 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs)** during the stipulated period.
Sinha said coordination meetings were held by all **2,956 Booth Level Officers (BLOs)** with their respective Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to ensure thorough field verification of absent, shifted, deceased and duplicate electors.
Help desks were also set up at the office of the Chief Electoral Officer and all **16 District Election Offices (DEOs)** to assist electors in filling out Enumeration Forms.
The CEO said the successful completion of the SIR and publication of the final electoral rolls were the result of coordinated efforts involving the District Election Officers — District Magistrates, Deputy Commissioners and Collectors — of all 16 districts, along with **60 EROs, 84 AEROs, 317 BLO Supervisors and 2,956 BLOs**, with support from volunteers.
Sinha also said that **85 new polling stations** had been created, taking the total number of polling stations in Manipur to **3,041**.
