Kundapur: One dead, five injured in fatal accident on Kirimanjeshwar NH

Kundapur, Apr 29: One person died, and five were injured when the Bolero jeep they were traveling in collided with a road divider on the Kirimanjeshwar national highway in the early morning of April 28.

The deceased has been identified as Ramanna. Hanumantha and his family, natives of Bagalkot, were returning to Udupi from Badami in a Bolero vehicle after attending a relative’s wedding. The accident occurred on April 28 as the Bolero reached Kirimanjeshwara. The vehicle collided with the road divider, skidded for 50 meters, crashed into an electricity pole, and came to a halt.

Ramanna sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to a hospital in Kundapur. Unfortunately, he passed away on the way. The injured, including the driver Niranjan, Shivakka, Reshma, Kavya, and Prajwal, are currently recovering in the hospital.

The Byndoor police have registered a case and are conducting further investigation.
