Bantwal: Old enmity leads to attack, youth stabbed

Bantwal, Apr 27: A youth was stabbed at Kumdelu near Farangpiet in the taluk on Friday due to some old enmity.

The injured is identified as Pavan, a resident of Kumdelu. He has been admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru. It is alleged that the accused, Charan Raj, stabbed Pavan with a sharp knife used in cockfighting. Pavan received a deep injury to his chest but is said to be out of danger.

Frictions between the injured and the accused have occurred on earlier occasions as well. Accusations of staring at each other were also reported.

Bantwal rural police have registered a case and are conducting further investigations.

    Increased cases of such avoidable frictions are a matter of grave concern... Lack of education is the main cause for such intolerance and short sightedness... If the upbringing is noble children don't grow into such wild creatures.... Much focus of people nowadays has become limited to horse eyed stubborn views... Be it about religion or social... It has become difficult to talk or reason out in public... Such attitudes are on the rise from the last decade.... We are living in a social forest in reality....
