Bantwal: Police arrest 4 accused, seize 2 lorries transporting sand worth thousands

Bantwal, March 21: A police team under the leadership of Bantwal town police SI Ramakrishna arrested four men on charges of transporting sand illegally and confiscated four lorries and sand worth several thousands on Thursday morning.

The police got wind that the accused were transporting sand without permission when they were inspecting vehicles at Nehru Nagar, Narikombu grama.

The accused are Kanyana resident Abdul Rehman (21), Adyar resident Mohammed Sadik, Kambalabettu resident Gautham (21) and Kelinja resident Guddppa Gowda. They were allegedly transporting sand from Netravati River without permission, police said.
