Pak woman crossed over to India only to unite with lover: Bengaluru police

Bengaluru, Feb 8 (IANS): The probe by authorities in the case of arrest of a Pakistani woman has revealed that she has no suspicious or criminal background, and that she crossed over to India to get united with her lover, sources said on Wednesday.

Pakistani national Ikra Jiwani was arrested in Bengaluru in the last week of January along with her husband Mulayam Singh Yadav. The 19-year-old, Ikra Jivani was illegally staying in India.

Probe found that the accused had sneaked into India through the Nepal border. The accused had got introduced to Mulayam Singh from Uttar Pradesh through a dating app and later married him.

Preliminary investigations showed that both came down to Bengaluru and resided at Junnasandra locality near Sarjapur road in Bengaluru. She attempted to contact her mother who is in Pakistan. The central intelligence agencies have gathered information about the accused woman and alerted the state police authorities.

The police had conducted a special operation and took her and her husband into custody. The police had taken up the investigation regarding the antecedents and tracked her history and activities in India.

The probe showed that both Ikra and Mulayam do not have any criminal or suspicious background. The probe also proved that she crossed the borders to get to India only to be with her lover.

The probe was carried by local police and central agencies. The sources explained that a report has also been submitted in this regard. Ikra fell in love with Mulayam four years ago before deciding to cross over and live with him.

Sources said that the authorities are preparing to deport her to Pakistan and she is refusing to go back to her country, Pakistan. Police sources revealed that Ikra Jiwani has been pleading and even holding the legs of authorities not to deport her to Pakistan. The woman is claiming that since she had married an Indian, she should be allowed to stay back here with him.

"She is saying that she loves her husband Mulayam Singh Yadav and married him after falling in love. She is claiming that she can't live without him," sources said.

Ikra is presently in the custody of the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO). The authorities are preparing for her deportation. The authorities are approaching the Pakistan government in this regard and it will take about two-months, police said.

The accused woman had renamed herself as Rava Yadav and hidden her original identity. The accused woman had also made submissions to obtain an Indian passport under the new name.

Some NGOs should help her on humanitarian grounds taaking her case to the court. She has legal rights to stay in India since she married to a Indian citizen. Deporting her to Pakistan will be a death sentence to her. India is meant for humanity.

She must be allowed to stay in India with her husband even though she has entered India illegally. She fell in love with her hubby and now happily living and Indian Government must consider her visa to stay permanently. If she has been deported her life will end in Pakistan in honor killing so granting her visa may save her life. Modi Ji, Beti Padaavo, Beti ko Bachavo!!!

Love is blind. Some people don't see anything in front of their love and take drastic action without foreseeing the consequences. I remember an Indian boy to went too Pakistan seeking his love, who was caught and jailed by Pak police and I believe he was sent back to India after investigation. Same is the story of this girl too. It's not Love Jihad. On humanitarian ground she should be allowed to live with her husband. If she goes back, she may even be killed as such honour killings are quite common in Pak (and also in India). She is just 19, left everything just for her love, Why separate them? We have millions of illegals, why not one more.

Sudden gush of disagrees must be from across the Border🤔🤔. Indians are definitely kind hearted and would want Ikra to live here. However, like one who opined here, if it were to be Mulayam who had crossed over he would have been circumsized, converted, rechristened Mulla Nusruddin or more likely than not buried or Dhafaned. Dhafan Dhafan. Got it right? Difference between two countries?? Our neighbor though going round with a begging bowl calling itself a Super Power 😎

Her Husband is an Indian who is a citizen of India; and she is his wife and most importantly a human being. There are many people in Mangalore who are from "West Bengal". They earn their living here and even have Aadhar Cards and Voter IDs. True that they work really hard and are dedicated. But they continue to visit their homeland and go for vacations as well and return back. Ikra is young and most likely naive, and our government servants probably will rise to the occasion and do their job. Meanwhile, I am sure no Hindu or Muslim organization will also come forward because of this unusual mix of faith. It is not the nationality that is the problem because we were perfectly fine when we got a Pakistani jijaji for Sania Mirza. Well, rules are rules I guess.

If it is ascertained that she had not crossed the border with criminal intent then she should be allowed to stay with her husband on humanitarian grounds. But she cannot escape punishment for entering the country illegally, faking identity and forging documents.

Thru Nepal. Many Asians enter thru this country, illegally or thru some legal Jugaad. Its not that difficult. An Indian visit visa can be obtained and all they need is to cross the border and disappear, throwing their passports. Goods lorries is also another form of infiltration. For ladies its easy if they have an Indian man at their side. In this case the guy was a Hindu, so no suspicion may have been raised.
